      • Treat every customer that walks through the door as if they are a family member. They should be greeted within 5 – 10 seconds of entering your place of business.


      • Offer customers personal attention, even if they don’t end up buying anything. Engage them in pleasant conversation about their lives, and make use of what you learn about them.


      • Show appreciation for current customers. Send occasional handwritten thank you notes, and thank them verbally at the end of every interaction.
